Moveable Type vs Texting

Moveable Type vs Texting

The moveable type was invented by Pi Sheng in Korea and completely redefined typing and printing as we know today. If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have the technology of laptops or smartphones or any form of typing we do today. We would still be sending letters with ravens hoping they don’t crash into your window like in Harry Potter. Texting is a new form of communication that is used on a smart phone with a keyboard that can send instant messages, no raven needed. Now, both of these forms of communication are drastically different yet they made a huge impact on society during their time period. For example, scribs were no longer needed to write books which saved so much time and money. I can barely write notes in class, imagine writing an entire book!  Texting also helped save time where we can now instantly send direct messages to one another so you don’t have to bike to your friends house to ask them if they wanted to hang out. The moveable type also created upper and lowercase letters which are still used today as well as using the alphabet. These two types of communication share the same purpose of informing those in the area along with also keeping history of certain events. Even though moveable type was most certainly used for more important historical events, texting can do the same for the history of a person's day to day conversation. The moveable type revolutionized the way we communicate and we wouldn't be where we are today with instant communication, like texting, without it.
